Terminal Area Charts depict the airspace designated as Terminal Control Areas (TCAs). The information found on these charts, while similar to that found on Sectional Charts, is more detailed given the scale (scale 1 inch = 3.43nm/1:250,000. 25 x 20 inches folded to 5 x 10 inches) . These charts should be used by pilots intending to operate from airfield within or near a Terminal Control Area or an Airport Radar Service Area. Locations of Terminal Area Charts are indicated by a star symbol on the Sectional Chart indexes. Revised semi-annually, except Puerto Rico/Virgin Islands which is revised annually.
