AeroShell Oil W100 Plus and W80 Plus can be used in any certified engine, this includes: Lycoming; Continental; Pratt & Whitney radial and most radical, opposed or in-line engines.
AeroShell Oill W100 Plus and W80 Plus are not recommended for use in helicopter with a common sump for the engine and transmission. The anti-wear additives makes the oil more slippery than regular single grades. This can cause the transmission to slip. Yes, this oil will be fine in that environment and it is recommended that you add CamGuard.
Is Aeroshell Aviation Oil W100 Plus a synthetic oil?
No, it is not a synthetic oil.
The last case of Aeroshell W100 plus came in black plastic bottles. The new case i just bought has red containers. It also says it is a mineral Ash dispersant oil. It never used to say mineral before. Is this the same oil, or is it an engine break in oil?
It is the same oil as before. The only thing that changes is the packaging. All AeroShell oils will be switching to the new, red packaging.
