Springs had nics in the end loops. Looks like a pair of pliers gripped the spring to form the loop. This little nic will be a point of failure. I bought two different springs and they both had these little nics in each end.

A very high quality replacement spring for the 912 series exhaust system. Good tension and reasonable price.

Be aware these springs are NOT exact replacements for the Rotax springs. These are approximately 5 mm longer. When the Rotax springs are stretched 1/2”, these longer springs have about 80% of the tension as the Rotax springs. And about 50% of the tension as compared to the Rotax spring when stretched 1/4” due to their greater length. Just be aware of the difference. I returned mine.

The “stainless steel “ springs I received were highly magnetic making them suspect that they were in fact stainless steel. Had I not needed to return my plane to service I would have returned them. You probably need to talk to your vendor to insure you are not getting plain carbon steel springs. The springs were for use on the exhaust system of a ROTAX 912 ULS engine. Homer Purtle
