The key is patented permanent magnet motor design. It replaces the bulky windings of a conventional starter motor with lightweight permanent magnets.This revolutionary design not only eliminates considerable weight, but results in more efficient starter operation and improved performance under all conditions. During extensive performance testing, Hartzell starters consistently provided quicker engine starts than conventional starters under a variety of operating conditions. These TBO starters are built to go the distance between engine overhauls.
