Note: 08-05882 is similar to 67193 and RG-67193 but not FAA Approved for Certified Aircraft. 08-01187 is similar to 75906 and RG-75906 but not FAA Approved for Certified Aircraft. "O" Series Lycoming Valve Cover Gaskets These homebuilder's Lycoming valve cover gaskets replace the original cork gaskets which come standard on Lycoming 0-235, 0-320 and 0-360 engines. These new gaskets are molded from high temperature silicone rubber and do not harden over time so they can be re-used again and again. This hi-tech silicone rubber offers a much lower compression set, so it is superior at maintaining an oil-tight seal for the life of the engine. NOT FAA approved. For experimental aircraft only. Angled Valve "IO" Series Lycoming Valve Cover Gaskets These gaskets are for the fuel injected "IO" series, sometimes referred to as the Angle Valve cylinder Lycoming, as well. these gaskets are molded from the same high-temperature silicone rubber as the "O" series gaskets above, and do not harden over time, so they can be reused again and again. This hi-tech silicone rubber offers a much lower compression set, so it is superior at maintaining an oil-tight seal for the life of the engine. They are not FAA approved and are not manufactured under a PMA. These are similar to Lycoming part number 67193 used on Angled valve Lycoming engines IO-360, IO-540, IO-720. |

These are the thicker, non-reinforced silicon type gaskets.
Generic gaskets for Lycoming O-360s (parallel valve). Fits great. Nice and cheap.
Gasket
One gasket of the four cracked but it was probably my fault for torquing it to the cork gasket spec before I realized the different value. Torqued the others as required and they have had no problem in some 30 hours.
Torqued to spec, and they tore after 2hrs of operation resulting in an oil leak. Im usually all on board with saving a few bucks by buying experimental, but in this case, Id go for the PMA RG-75906

Yes, these are silicone gaskets.
The thickness of 08-01187 is 1/8". They are the same size and shape as 05-11181, just made by two different manufacturers.
