Part# 13-09050

The Flight Sound X adapter is a high quality USB sound card, custom-made for General Aviation Headsets.

Use your own aviation headset for flight simulation training scenarios...
Fact 1: Real-world flying is expensive! It is well known that Flight Simulation software enables pilots to maximise their proficiency thereby reducing flying training hours.
Fact 2: A headset is often the biggest part of an aeroplane that an individual actually owns and is an important, psychologically reassuring and comforting instrument.

The Flight Sound X connects these two realities. The device enables students to learn with tools that they are familiar with, thereby ultimately having a positive impact upon flight safety.

Get added duty from your headset by using it with programmes like Skype!
While PC-headsets are often built to low standards, aviation headsets are high quality, robust devices. Why not increase their ‘up-time’ by utilising them with computer audio applications such as Skype etc?

Internal amplifiers boost the microphone and headphone levels necessary for driving these high-impedance Aviation Headsets. Don’t be fooled by cheaper adapters, which omit this feature!

Bring the realism of your virtual flight environment to unprecedented levels...
Users are increasingly exposing themselves to unprecedented levels of flight simulation realism with internet based/online environments. Real people are flying virtual VFR/IFR routes controlled by real-life virtual ATC operators.

In addition to being functional, Aviation headsets greatly enhance the sound and feel of the simulation environment in a way that no ordinary PC-based headset could ever achieve. PC headsets often have no microphone feedback and may feel cold, remote and uninvolving.

Just plug and play ... and you’re ready to go! Flight Sound X is designed to be as easy to use as possible - no additional software, no batteries, no external power sources - just one standard USB cable. Just ‘plug and play’! When users have finished with the device, simply unplug it, and the computer will revert to its original audio settings.

The Flight Sound X adapter is a great accessory for any pilot!

It worked fine on the Japanese version of Windows 10. Using Flightcoms DENALI D30SP, I was able to join a Zoom meeting and it worked well. Very useful.

The Flight Sound X does exactly what I needed it to do. I am a Voice Over Talent and offer my clients Pilot Speak, or Race Car Speak. That quintessential sound can only come from an aviation headset through a VOX intercom. The problem then is to get it into the computer and my recording program. The Flight Sound X made that possible. Easy, easy, easy. Plugged it in, and the volumes matched that of my studio mic. No injected noises. Clean audio. And that perfect Pilot Speak sound. Great product! Worth every penny.

The Flight Sound X has worked perfectly and only required plugging my DCs into the unit and the USB connector into my USB powered hub. No setup except telling the computer what is connected to it for audio in and out.

Does exactly what it says it does. Plugged it in, Windows 10 recognized it and installed drivers automatically, and voila there was a USB microphone and USB headphone set sitting in my sound settings. Put my Bose A20 in and mic/headphones worked without needing to turn on the noise cancelling but obviously worked with the noise cancelling on as well. Build quality seems solid so hoping it lasts! Nice that it doesnt need batteries to work.

Q: The Flight Sound X-Aviation Headset USB Adapter device claims to be USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 compatible. Since no computer has been made with USB 2.0 for a while, is it safe to assume it will also work with USB 3.0 computers?

Yes, this will work on computers using USB 3.0.

Q: I am kinda new to the whole SIM thing. What programs will this work with? ie will I be able to talk to ATC on my FSX?

The Flight Sounds devices are essentially external USB sound cards - custom made for Aviation Headsets. Therefore, they will appear as another sound card on your computer, and you may choose to play any type of "typical" audio through this device. Examples include: VoIP, Music, Flight Simulator etc. Whether or not two-way ATC communication will be available depends on the software used.

Q: Is the Flight Sound X-Aviation Headset USB Adapter Windows 10 Compatible?

Yes, this is Windows 10 compatible.

Q: Will this work with X plane 11?

Yes, this is compatible with XPlane 11.

Q: So I have a Bose A20. Will the Noise cancelling still work without the batteries?

No, you would need the batteries in the headset to power the ANR.

Q: We have a training simulator for pilot and co-pilot positions. Can 2 of these be connected to the sim computer to allow intercom conversation via headset?

The manufacturer has a version that allows for dual headsets to be used. We are able to special order this item from them. Please contact our sales department for pricing and lead time on this unit.
