I was very pleased after trying it out and compressing the spring after reading some of the negative replies. It has a feature that allows the Steel shoes to spread apart and hold the spring firmly. Cant imagine anyone complaining about this tool. Like a good friend said, some people should own tools -)

Consider this tool necessary to allow insertion of the new tube without removing intake or exhaust manifold. I also used a multi-tool with carbide blade to cut the old tubes in about 20-30 seconds and easy to get the multi-tool blade in place without intake or exhaust removal.

I didnt do the work my self, but had the A&P change the pushrod tubes on the o-200. I didnt even ask about the spring compressor, but he told me that it is really handy and did an excellent job on the install of the tubes.

This is recommended in the push rod kit, your warranty will be void if you do not use it. Its a quality built tool

This tool worked, but as for quality it was very poor. I doubt that it would work much more after just one use.
