This wrench did not even begin to fit on a cylinder base nut, as received. I spent quite some time grinding and filing it down to be able to make it fit over the cylinder base nut, and clear the last cylinder barrel fins, and the cylinder barrel. It was the same case with the last wrench I bought 35 years ago so I wasnt surprised.

Excellent product. I like the thicker walls because you can sand them down exactly the way you want. Its nice having a set of four ranches and my only critique would be that they could be 1 inch longer to accommodate the Ted Smith AEROSTAR. However these wrenches are more than adequate if you are on an engine stand and not trying to work around cowling.

Used them for the first time to remove a cylinder from an O-360 Lycoming, they worked great, thought I may have to grind them down some for clearance, but actually they had enough bite that I didn’t have to grind them at all and they worked perfectly. It’s judt one cylinder so far but worked great.

Fit perfect on A65 and did what was needed

Purchased the 1/2 and 9/16 for use during the recent overhaul of my Continental O-200A. They worked perfectly and are a absolute necessity when removing and installing cylinders.

Wrenches were ok. Had to grind down thick walls just to fit into the nuts.

Your basic wrench! Did the job just fine. Not a craftsman or snap-on but it works. May need to grind the side to thin the wall a little for some cylinders depending on the casting - but not in my case.

Worked well on an O-470-R but needed a little grinding to clear two of the cylinder base nuts near the engine mounts. Good value.

These wrenches are solid and work great, but only after you’ve ground down around the edge of where the nut sits. Most of the engine base nuts I remove with these are a closer fit than the wrenches allow. I’ve never came accros a base but wrench that works right out of the box, they’ve all needed to be ground down no matter the manufacture

Installed two cylinders on an O-200 yesterday. We had to grind the wrench down in a few places to get it to fit, but I dont know how I would have been able to torque the nuts down without these wrenches.

On a continental 520 I had to grind down the head of the wrenches so they would fit but they worked after that

Inexpensive tool , requires being ground on to thin the box end so they will fit between cylinder and the nut. Good price though and just the thing for infrequent use, but a Pro that will often use them, spend a little more for a higher quality tool.

Sizing was incorrect for a Lycoming IO-360, To remove the heads you need 1/2 and 3/4. Otherwise, a good product didnt require grinding.

This is a quality wrench however, the walls of the wrench are too thick. I had to grind the wall thinner in order for it to seat on the cylinder base nut on my Cont. O-200.

Needed to be modified to work. The wrenches would not slide onto the base bolts without grinding them.

The wrenches dont fit the cylinder base hold down nuts on small Continentals! I am going to have to grind them as other customers did. However, I was out in the field, no grinder nearby, they were worthless, plus, I hate grinding a brand new wrench!

The 9/16 wrench is too big. It has a lot of slack. Poor quality, Chinese wrenches fit better... Also the description is not correct. My fault for trusting and not checking it. For IO-360 it indicates 1/2 and 9/16 keys. Today my order arrived, 80 dollars including shipping and I discovered that the measurements are not correct. My motor is IO-360-A1A and the measurements I need are 9/16 and 3/4.

These wrenches are listed as being compatible with a Continental IO 520. They are not. The barrel does not fit in the nut well at the cylinder base.
