K2U CESSNA FRONT DOOR ENTRY SEAL 150 152 170 172 175 180
Seal went in very well. Durable product and applied with contact cement. Both doors closed and sealed with ease.
installed on the copilots door of my 1961 C182D. It was a very tight fit at first after three days with the doors closed and latched it fit great with no leaks.
The seals will be initially too thick. You need to let the doors sit CLOSED for 48 hours or more if its cold. They will compress and form a custom tight seal.
Its a good seal. When I ordered it, I thought it was enough to cover both doors. It does not, only one door for an expensive price.
This material is much too thick for the 172 door. Weve had it installed for almost two years and all it has done is cause undue stress on the hinges and latch mechanism which has lead to a broken door latch linkage. Go to the hardware store and purchase something cheaper that will also fit better.
I attempted to install these door seals on a Cessna 152. They were much too thick and the cabin door would not close. I removed the seals and installed the Cessna door seals (PN R581573). The Cessna seal fit well. I wasted more than eight hours installing and removing and than reinstalling the Cessna seals. The most time consuming part was removing the adhesive. I gave the product one star because the seal was well made.
The door seals are very high quality but do not fit our 1967 T-41B (R172E) Our doors fit perfectly but the seals are simply to thick and too wide to allow the doors to close. We followed the directions carefully and the seals were correctly oriented. We now have a big mess in trying to remove the seals on the one door we did.

The manufacturer recommends for you to use the 3M Super Weather Strip Adhesive which we carry. P/N# 09-27200. One 5oz tube should just be enough for your application.
